  • Bananas - 4
  • Brown sugar - 1/2 cup
  • Spring roll sheets - 16
  • Oil, for frying


  1. Cut each banana in half, and then lengthways.

  2. Spread the brown sugar evenly on a small plate, and dip the cut sides of the banana into the sugar to lightly coat.

  3. Place the banana into the corner of a spring roll wrap, and roll the banana up, tucking in the sides as you roll. When you get to the top of the roll, wet the top corner well with water, and stick down to close. Make sure there are no holes or gaps, as you don't want the banana to leak when frying.

  4. Heat oil in a large frypan to a medium heat. You can check that the oil is ready by dipping one end of the spring rolls in, and seeing if it begins to fry. Cook the spring rolls for 3-4 minutes turning regularly, until golden brown.

  5. Once cooked, rest on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.

  6. Serve with ice cream, or any dipping sauces of your choice!
