Ganesh's Ginger Soy Beef

Ingredients

  • Dressing
  • 2 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 Tbsp white wine vinegar
  • 2 knobs ginger, grated
  • 4 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp sweet chilli sauce
  • Beef
  • 1 tsp cooking oil
  • 500g trimmed beef, blade steak recommended
  • 2 tsp salt and pepper
  • 1 cup white shredded cabbage
  • 1 cup red shredded cabbage
  • 1 cup grated carrot
  • 1 cup sliced cucumber
  • 1 cup coriander

Method

  • 1. In a medium saucepan, heat the sesame oil and cook onions and garlic for 1 minute. Then add the vinegar, ginger, soy and sweet chilli sauce and cook for 2 minutes. Take pan off the heat and leave to rest.

  • 2. Add oil to a frying pan and heat on high. Cook the beef on one side for 2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Then flip the beef once, season, and cook for a further 2 minutes. Remove from heat and rest for 10 minutes.

  • 3. Once rested, slice the beef against the grain and place aside.

  • 4. In a medium bowl, mix the cabbage, carrot, cucumber and coriander. Plate the salad, and top with sliced beef and dressing and enjoy.
