Reuben Sandwich

10 minutes + 5 minutes Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 8 slices rye bread
  • 1/4 cup mustard
  • 8 slices swiss cheese
  • 2/3 cup drained sauerkraut
  • 150gm sliced pastrami
  • 8 gherkins, to serve

Method

  • 1. Preheat a sandwich press.

  • 2. Spread 4 slices of bread with mustard. Top with half the cheese. Layer sauerkraut, pastrami, then remaining cheese and bread slices.

  • 3. Cook in sandwich press for 5 minutes or until bread is crisp and cheese is melted.

  • 4. Serve sandwiches with gherkins.
