Asian Style Chicken Drumsticks

  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 Tbsp ginger
  • 1/2 tsp Chinese five spice
  • 3 Tbsp sweet soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp oyster sauce
  • 8 chicken drumsticks
  • 2 cups chicken stock
  • 1/2 tsp celery salt
  • 2 cups rice
  • 500 g stirfry veges

  • 1. In a large bowl put the garlic, ginger, five spice powder, sweet soy sauce, oyster sauce and chicken drums.

  • 2. Combine well and leave to marinate in the fridge for an hour (or overnight for a greater depth of flavour).

  • 3. Place marinated chicken in a single layer in of a baking dish with the chicken stock. Sprinkle with the celery salt and bake at 200°C for 40 minutes or until the skin is crisp – adding a little more stock if the sauce is in danger of drying out.

  • 4. Serve with serve the drumsticks and sauce with rice and stir fried vegetables.
