Maille Macaroni and Cheese

45 minutes + 30 minutes Serves 4-6


  • 250 g Macaroni
  • 2 Cup Milk
  • 4 Tsp Standard Flour
  • 2 Tsp Teaspoons Maille Dijon original Mustard
  • 200 g Bacon
  • 60 g Butter
  • 5 Tsp Cheddar Cheese, Grated
  • Enough Ground Black Pepper to give Flavour
  • Use salt according to your own preference
  • Finely chopped fresh parsley for Garnish

  • Directions

  • Preheat oven to 180 degrees

  • Cook macaroni in lightly salted boiling water until just tender – about 10 minutes or according to package directions.

  • Meanwhile, heat a small amount of butter in pan and lightly sweat the leeks.

  • In a separate pan, melt remaining butter and stir in flour. Cook one minute on low heat stirring constantly. While stirring, gradually add in milk until mixture is thickened.

  • Add grated cheese, Maille dijion origional mustard and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Stir in cooked leeks. Pour over macaroni and stir through.

  • Pour mixture into a baking dish and cook for 20 minutes, or until bubbling and golden.

  • Garnish with parsley.

  • Serve with a few strips of bacon, thinly sliced and fried crisp
