Top 10 frequently asked questions

Absolutely yes. When you add a new Onecard to your existing Onecard account any Onecard points that you have earned will automatically be transferred over to the new Onecard.

Earn one point for every whole $10 you spend on qualifying goods and services when you use your Onecard in store or online. So, if you spend $50 you earn five (5) Onecard points, spend $150 to earn 15 Onecard points and so on.

Every 200 points you earn gives you a $15 Onecard Rewards Voucher. So if you earn 400 points you'll receive a voucher to the value of $30. The more points you earn, the more Onecard Rewards Vouchers you’ll receive.

AA Smartfuel cardStart using the new card (issued after 9 October 2016) at Countdown to earn AA Smartfuel discounts.  You’ll need to use the new card (as per the picture to the right) to do that.

No.  The new Onecard programme (from 9 October 2016) means that you can now earn AA Smartfuel discounts at Countdown which can be redeemed at participating AA Smartfuel partner sites.  It does not mean that you can earn Onecard points at BP and Caltex.

No - as long as you add your new card number to your existing Onecard or AA Smartfuel Account, then it all gets taken care of for you.  You don't need to update your new number.

You will need to replace your old AA Smartfuel card with one of the new cards by picking one up from a Countdown store or from BP and Caltex and adding it to your existing Onecard account.  One card that replaces two (or three) pieces of plastic has to be good news!

You only need to register the new card once, ie with Countdown or with AA Smartfuel.  You dont need to do it with both.

Absolutely yes! Nothing changes here - as a Onecard customer you will still be able to save more with products that offer exclusive Club Prices for Onecard customers.

cpl - cents per litre (discount)

Spend a total of $100 in Countdown over a one week period (Monday to Sunday) on qualifying goods and services and you will earn an AA Smartfuel discount of $0.03 cpl; spend a total of $200 in Countdown over a one week period and you will earn a discount of $0.06 cpl.  Remember that the $100 (or $200) does not have to be spent in a single transaction - it is over the period of a week.

A $0.06 cpl discount is the maximum that you can earn in a one week period at Countdown. You can earn additional fuel discounts at the rest of the AA Smartfuel partner village.

BP or Caltex are the AA Smartfuel partners where you can redeem fuel discounts.

As an AA Member, your AA Membership card is automatically an AA Smartfuel card and now it is also a Onecard. That means that your new AA Membership card (issued after 3 October 2016) does three things. One piece of plastic that does all three things - how easy is that.

  1. It’s your AA Membership card - the one you need to call AA Roadservice
  2. It’s an AA Smartfuel card - which you use at participating AA Smartfuel partner sites to get fuel discounts
  3. Now it’s also a Onecard - which you can use it at Countdown to get Club Prices and also earn Onecard points toward Onecard Rewards Vouchers or add to your fuel savings with AA Smartfuel.

And, as an AA Member there is no need for you to register this new card. When you start to use this new card at Countdown everything will be taken care of.  However, if you decide you don't want to use your new AA Membership card at Countdown then nothing will happen - you can simply continue to use this new card as your AA Membership card and your AA Smartfuel discount card.
