No - you don’t need to change the Onecard that you have today.  It will still continue to work at Countdown and with the AA Smartfuel partners BP and GAS.

There are more than 300 BP or GAS sites throughout the country but we appreciate that for some customers this might not suit them in their local neighbourhood.  If earning AA Smartfuel discounts no longer works for you, you can change to earning food rewards (e-vouchers) instead. You can easily do this on the website.

Earn one point for every whole $10 you spend on qualifying goods and services when you use your Onecard in store or online. So, if you spend $50 you earn five (5) Onecard points, spend $150 to earn 15 Onecard points and so on.

Every 200 points you earn gives you a $15 e-voucher.  So if you earn 400 points you'll receive an e-voucher to the value of $30. The more points you earn, the more Onecard e-vouchers you’ll receive.

No.  The Onecard programme enables you to earn AA Smartfuel discounts at Countdown which can be redeemed at participating AA Smartfuel partner sites.  It does not mean that you can earn Onecard points at BP and GAS.

No - as long as you add your new card number to your existing Onecard or AA Smartfuel Account, then it all gets taken care of for you.  You don't need to update your new number.

cpl - cents per litre (discount)

Spend a total of $100 in Countdown over a one week period (Monday to Sunday) on qualifying goods and services and you will earn an AA Smartfuel discount of $0.03 cpl; spend a total of $200 in Countdown over a one week period and you will earn a discount of $0.06 cpl.  Remember that the $100 (or $200) does not have to be spent in a single transaction - it is over the period of a week.

A $0.06 cpl discount is the maximum that you can earn in a one week period at Countdown. You can earn additional fuel discounts at the rest of the AA Smartfuel partner village.

BP or GAS are the AA Smartfuel partners where you can redeem fuel discounts.  Remember you can also earn additional fuel discounts at these partners too.

As an AA Member, your AA Membership card is automatically an AA Smartfuel card and now it is also a Onecard. That means that your new AA Membership card (issued after 3 October 2016) does three things. One piece of plastic that does all three things - how easy is that.

  1. It’s your AA Membership card - the one you need to call AA Roadservice
  2. It’s an AA Smartfuel card - which you use at participating AA Smartfuel partner sites to get fuel discounts
  3. Now it’s also a Onecard (your Onecard number is on the back of the card) - which you can use it at Countdown to get Club Prices and also earn Onecard points toward Onecard Rewards Vouchers or add to your fuel savings with AA Smartfuel.

And, as an AA Member there is no need for you to register this new card. When you start to use this new card at Countdown everything will be taken care of.  However, if you decide you don't want to use your new AA Membership card at Countdown then nothing will happen - you can simply continue to use this new card as your AA Membership card and your AA Smartfuel discount card.
