Countdown network update – Tues 15 Nov @ 11am

Tuesday, 15 November 2016, 11.00am: Today our priority remains the well-being of our team, and focusing on getting stock to where it needs to be around the country.

All Countdown stores are trading in the South Island. All Blenheim stores have now re-opened and are trading.

All Countdown stores are trading on the North Island, except:

  • Queensgate Mall store will not open today. We are cleaning up the store and speaking to mall management about their intentions to re-open.
  • Wainuiomata Mall store is closed. It suffered damage and needs some repairs. We will review progress again on Friday.

All SuperValue and FreshChoice stores are open, except Seddon SuperValue.

Online shopping is running, but there could be some delays in the Wellington-region, and the Blenheim area. We are talking directly to affected customers. Note:

  • Wellington CBD will not be receiving online orders today.
  • Online orders coming out of Countdown Redwoodtown will also not proceed today.

Our Palmerston North Distribution Centre remains closed, with orders being diverted to our Auckland distribution centres.

We are doing everything we can to get stock to affected parts of the country, including from our Distribution Centre in Christchurch. There may be some delays, but we are able to get deliveries into all affected areas. We will continue to update our customers and teams.

We have deployed Vitae, our support services, to affected stores to talk with teams. Members of the Countdown leadership team are visiting stores in Wellington, Christchurch and Blenheim, and our Distribution Centre in Palmerston North.
