Countdown network update 3
Monday, 14 November 2016, 4.30pm: All but five Countdown stores and one SuperValue store are now trading.
In the South Island, all Countdown stores are now trading, except Countdown Blenheim. Seddon SuperValue is also closed.
In the North Island, all Countdown stores are open, except three in the Wellington region. Queensgate, Wainuiomata, and Porirua remain closed. Our Wellington CBD store was closed this afternoon. The store is structurally sound, however we were asked to close given the expected poor weather tonight.
All other Countdown, SuperValue and FreshChoice stores are trading as normal.
Online shopping service to customers in Blenheim, Wellington and Christchurch will continue to be disrupted into Tuesday. We have contacted customers directly about their existing orders.
Our Palmerston North Distribution Centre remains closed, with orders being diverted to our Auckland distribution centres.
Given some of the disruptions with road, rail and ferry networks there may be some delays in getting stock to some of our South Island stores. However, we have plans in place to manage this, and will do our best to meet customer demand.
We are liaising with Civil Defence about how we can support them with getting water to Kaikoura.
Countdown leadership team members will travel to Christchurch, Palmerston North, Wellington and Blenheim on Tuesday, to visit our stores and speak with our teams.
The safety of our customers and team continue to be our first priority.
We will provide a further update tomorrow morning.
