Onecard Trolley Dash Terms and Conditions

Promotional Period

The Promoter of the promotion outlined below (“Promotion”) is Woolworths New Zealand Ltd, 80 Favona Rd, Favona, Auckland 2024 (“Promoter”), which owns and operates the Countdown supermarkets.

This Promotion commences 26th of August 2019, 12:00am and closes 15th of September 2019 11:59pm (“Promotional Period”).

This Promotion is open to registered Onecard holders only. Please note that employees cannot be excluded from the Onecard promotions.

Method of Entry

During the Promotional Period customers with a registered Onecard can enter to play the Online Trolley Dash by making a purchase of $30 or more in one transaction at Countdown and swiping their registered Onecard (if shopping in-store) or entering their registered Onecard (if shopping online). Upon completion of the purchase the customer will be supplied with a 19 digit promotional code printed at the bottom of their till receipt if shopping in-store, or on the order confirmation email if shopping online.

To play the game the customer will be required to visit, submit their registered Onecard number and the 19 digit promotional code. This entitles the customer to one play.

Once the 19 digit promotional code has been used, it cannot be used again.

Bonus Plays

During the promotion period, there will be products marked in-store and online that customers can buy to earn bonus play codes.

Every ‘Bonus Play’ marked product that a customer purchases, will earn an additional play code. These featured products will change weekly.

These ‘Bonus Play’ codes will be emailed to the email address that the customer has against their registered Onecard. These will be emailed on the following dates:

  • Wednesday 4th September 2019
  • Wednesday 11th September 2019
  • Wednesday 18th September 2019

Customers who shop online will earn ‘Bonus Play’ codes for the featured products on the date which they place their online order.

If the email address that the customer has provided against their Onecard is incorrect or missing, we will not issue ‘Bonus Play’ codes retrospectively.

Countdown will keep the Trolley Dash game live until 22nd September 2019 to give customers time to use all their play codes that they’ve earned during the Promotion Period.


Prizes may either be Onecard points or AA Smartfuel discounts, depending on the customer’s existing selected rewards currency, as recorded on their Onecard account. Game plays will automatically default to the customer’s rewards currency preference. Prize values are randomly determined by each game and in some games no Prizes may appear.

Prizes for customers with Onecard points as their default rewards currency will be Onecard points that will be added to their Onecard points balance and contribute to their e-voucher earning. Prizes for customers with AA Smartfuel discounts as their default rewards currency will be awarded cents per litre discounts, which will be applied to their AA Smartfuel account.

Onecard Visa customers who earn both food and fuel will automatically be defaulted to AA Smartfuel cents per litre discounts, unless the customer has chosen not to receive AA Smartfuel discounts.

Prizes cannot be redistributed to other Onecard customers or swapped for alternative rewards.

Prizes of either Onecard points, or AA Smartfuel cents per litre discounts (as applicable, if won) should normally be allocated to the Onecard holder’s account within 24 hours of completing the game.


Winners are immediately notified of any prize awarded upon completion of the game. It is up to each entrant to ensure that their relevant details on the Onecard database are correct. Details can be updated via the website or by phoning the Countdown Customer Care team on 0800 40 40 40.

Any prizes allocated to Onecard or AA Smartfuel accounts are subject to Onecard and AA Smartfuel’s usual terms and conditions.

Fraudulent or dishonest entries

The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of game plays and to take any action it deems appropriate, including:

  1. disqualifying any entrant; or
  2. refusing to award a prize; or
  3. suspending or deleting Onecards Points or AA Smartfuel cents per litre balances,
    where false or misleading details have been given by a customer, or a customer has behaved in a fraudulent or dishonest manner (e.g entering made up promotion codes that are not matched to the customer’s spending at Countdown), or otherwise than in accordance with these terms and conditions of entry. The Promoter’s decision is final.

Exclusions and Liability

For the avoidance of doubt, customers will not be eligible to participate in this Promotion if they do not swipe or enter their Onecard details at the time of purchase. Onecard rewards will not be accepted on a retrospective basis after the time of purchase.

The Promoter will not be responsible for any late, lost or misdirected play codes, including but not limited to play codes not received due to technical problems.

The Promoter and its related companies, employees and agencies shall not be liable for any loss, damage or personal injury suffered by any person arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with entering this Promotion or claiming/winning any Prize, or availing themselves of any Prize, except as required by law.

The Promoter is not responsible for the transmission or receipt of any incorrect information associated with gameplays, either caused by user error or any equipment or programming malfunction associated with the Promotion.

Use of Personal Information

All entries remain the property of the Promoter. All personal information will be collected and stored by the Promoter in accordance with the Privacy Act 1993 and Countdown’s privacy policy. The Promoter may use entrants’ personal information from entries to conduct the Promotion and for its own future promotional and publicity purposes, in accordance with standard Onecard Terms and Conditions. General Terms and Conditions

By entering into this Promotion you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and acknowledge that you have complied with all of your obligations under the Onecard Terms and Conditions. We reserve the right to deem that your entry is void should you fail to comply with any of these Terms and Conditions.

If this Promotion is not capable of running as planned for any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, including but not limited to, infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, acts or omissions of third parties, technical failures or anything which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Promotion, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion.

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
