Countdown, proud sponsors of the Senior New Zealander of the Year Award
Countdown has been named as the new sponsor of the Senior New Zealander of the Year Award as part of the New Zealander of the Year Awards launched at Te Papa this evening.
“We see this sponsorship as a great opportunity to demonstrate our support and celebration of senior New Zealanders and the value they contribute to society,” said Elizabeth Ryley, Progressive Enterprises General Manager Communications and Marketing.
Tonight’s celebrations signify the opening of nominations for the 2011 awards, beginning the nationwide search to celebrate inspirational Kiwis.
There are five award categories; Kiwibank New Zealander of the Year, Countdown Senior New Zealander of the Year, Coca-Cola Amatil Young New Zealander of the Year, Mitre 10 Community of the Year and Kiwibank Local Heroes.
Countdown, Kiwibank, Mitre 10, Coca-Cola Amatil and the New Zealander of the Year Awards are calling for nominations and look forward to receiving a whole range of suggestions from across New Zealand.
“We look forward to reading the nominations for Senior New Zealander of the Year as they come in, says Ms Ryley. “There are so many inspirational senior Kiwis out there who have a wealth of experience that we would all like to learn from.’’
Nominations are open until 22 October 2011 and nomination forms are available at all Countdown, Woolworths and Foodtown supermarkets, branches of Kiwibank and Mitre 10 stores.
