Dave Chambers is Managing Director of Progressive Enterprises. Dave is an experienced retailer with over thirty years experience in the sector.
He has served the company since 1979 and his retail management experience has stretched across store, area and divisional management roles.
Prior to assuming the Managing Director role in July 2010, Dave was General Manager of Supermarket Operations from 2008. Prior to this, he was General Manager for Foodtown & Woolworths.
In 2002, Dave was awarded the Nestle Scholarship to attend the Food Executive Programme at Cornell University, USA. He is a member of the Board of the New Zealand Retailers Association.
Brett Ashley is General Manager of Operations at Progressive Enterprises. Since commencing his Butchery Apprenticeship with Foodtown in 1975, Brett has accumulated more than 30 years experience with Progressive, in addition to five years spent operating a private business. He has held a variety of roles with the company in Operations, Marketing and Merchandise.
Bridget Lamont is General Manager of Marketing at Progressive Enterprises. She joined Progressive Enterprises in October 2004, after holding various marketing roles at NZ Post, Sky City Entertainment Group, Ezibuy and a number of independent marketing consultancies.
Bridget has previously held senior marketing roles at Progressive Enterprises including Business Manager Customer Engagement and Insight, and Senior Marketing Strategy Manager. Bridget and her team are responsible for all advertising, promotions, brand, customer engagement, customer insight and partner promotions activity for the Countdown brand.
Richard, General Manager Strategic Planning, has had an extensive career in FMCG. He has worked in New Zealand, Asia and the United Kingdom. He has previously held senior marketing positions with Fonterra, Bass Plc, Rank Hovis McDougall and Goodman Fielder Wattie and has direct experience of many different retail formats.
During this time Richard has worked on a number of strategic initiatives including global strategy development, global category strategies, reducing business complexity, due diligence and business integration activities.
Gideon has over 25 years experience in finance, audit and corporate finance, both in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
He joined Progressive Enterprises in 1996 and held various finance related positions including Company Secretary, Treasury, Legal and Compliance before being appointed as General Manager Finance and Administration departments from 2000.
Currently an Executive Director of all Progressive's New Zealand companies, his responsibilities now also encompass the Property, Legal and Franchise departments in New Zealand. Before joining Progressive Gideon worked with Price Waterhouse in Auckland and Touche Ross in the United Kingdom.
Steve Green is General Manager Logistics at Progressive Enterprises. Steve joined Progressive Enterprises in December 2012 from the Woolworths team. Steve brings to this role a breadth of international logistics experience including 11 years with Woolworths and 10 years with Tesco. In his most recent role he was responsible for the Logistics Operations in Western Australia. Steve now leads the transport, replenishment, shipping and the national network of Distribution Centres across New Zealand, where he uses his wealth of knowledge and experience to ensure our stores have the right products on their shelves in order to meet our customers’ demands.
Steve Donohue is General Manager Merchandise at Progressive Enterprises. Steve joined Progressive Enterprises in September 2013 from the Woolworths team.
Steve has worked in a variety of buying and marketing roles throughout the Woolworths group over the past 20 years. In his most recent role he was responsible for the buying teams that support the Woolworths Liquor Group which includes Dan Murphy’s, BWS, Cellarmasters and Langton’s.
Steve and his team manage range and pricing decisions for Countdown and work with over 1,200 suppliers.
